When I was seven years old, video games used to be my favorite pastime activity. I also had a neighbor who was a visually impaired child. He sat and watched me play for hours and would laugh his heart out just by hearing me play. I was moved and wished that the little boy could also experience the fun I had while playing video games. This incident inspired me to develop a game for visually impaired kids.My 7-year-old self could not make the game as I didnt have any coding skills back then. Years passed by and at 15 I had learned new software languages that were enough for me to make this App.As an Indian-American, I was shocked to find that India has almost 500,000 blind kids and the US has about 240,000 visually impaired kids..This game, A-maze, uses sounds and cues to teach young kids new words. Players collect items that are fruits and other common objects as they are spoken by the robot so that the child can learn new words. In addition, the robot uses numbers to describe how far a player is from the items so that the child can learn how to count by moving those number of steps. The player has to avoid monsters that the audio will describe in which direction they are moving.
